, CA – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision on Friday night in Oceanside.

The fatal crash happened in the area on State Route 76 at Canyon Road at around 7:35 p.m., according to the Oceanside Police Department.

A gray Mercedes sedan was northbound on Canyon when it ran a red light and was struck by a U-Haul truck.

The impact of the collision caused both vehicles to crash into a white Kia Sedan that was in the left turn lane of westbound SR-76.

Both occupants of the Mercedes were pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The drivers of the U-Haul and Kia suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
