Police said a gray Lexus sedan was traveling northbound on Wood Road when it failed to stop for a red light and collided with a blue Scion heading west on Van Buren Boulevard
Riverside, CA.- Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Riverside on Saturday morning, according to the Riverside Police Department.
The wreck happened on Wood Road near Van Buren Boulevard at about 5:40 a.m.
Police said a gray Lexus sedan was traveling northbound on Wood Road when it failed to stop for a red light and collided with a blue Scion heading west on Van Buren Boulevard.
The Lexus then crashed into a light pole, an electrical pole, and a tree, before bursting in flames.
The driver of the Lexus, a 17-year-old boy, and one of his passengers, an 18-year-old woman, were both killed in the crash.
A 17-year-old passenger in the Lexus was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
The other driver was not injured.
Police said alcohol, drugs, and speed were suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The crash is under investigation.
