Corning, California (November 5, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized after a semi-truck accident that happened Saturday evening in Corning, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities received reports of the accident around 6:53 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just south of the South Avenue off-ramp.

A gray sedan collided with a semi-truck under unclear circumstances.

Firefighters responded to the scene and blocked the No. 1 lane.

Two people were taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital with minor injuries.

The sedan was towed away with major front-end damage.

CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision.
