2 Hospitalized after Collision Involving CHP Patrol Car on 101 Freeway near Hayvenhurst Avenue in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California (September 24, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized after being injured in a violent car crash involving a CHP patrol car on Sunday morning in Encino.

The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of the 101 Freeway near the Hayvenhurst Avenue exit in Encino just after 12:40 a.m.

A CHP officer had pulled over a driver for an unrelated incident when another vehicle crashed into the stopped vehicles.

At least two people were transported to the hospital for treatment in unknown conditions.

The officer involved in the accident was unhurt.

One of the drivers involved in the crash fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody, according to a local news source.
