According to the report, a 16-year-old girl was driving a 2016 Nissan Frontier west on Santa Fe Drive when she tried to make a left turn onto Lake Drive and collided with an eastbound 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Encinitas, CA.- Two people were injured in a two-vehicle collision early Friday morning in Encinitas, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The wreck happened on Santa Fe Drive and Lake Drive just before 2 a.m. on December 6.
According to the report, a 16-year-old girl was driving a 2016 Nissan Frontier west on Santa Fe Drive when she tried to make a left turn onto Lake Drive and collided with an eastbound 2003 Toyota Tacoma.
The impact caused the Tacoma to overturn and the 24-year-old man driving it was ejected.
The man was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla with major injuries.
A 23-year-old passenger in the Tacoma was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The teenage driver was not injured in the collision.
According to San Diego County Sheriff's Department, alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The accident is under investigation.
