Glendale, AZ.- Two people were injured in a crash that sent a vehicle into a canal in Glendale on Thursday, according to the Glendale Police Department.
The incident took place on Loop 101 near Behrend Drive on Thursday, August 14.
According to the police, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Loop 101 when it collided with a car trying to make a left turn onto Behrend Drive.
One of the vehicles was sent into a decorative lake on the side of the roadway.
Another vehicle stopped in the roadway and burst into flames.
Witnesses helped rescue the driver from the submerged vehicle.
Both drivers were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said speed and impairment were not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
