One person killed in Highway 101 collision near Whipple Avenue in Redwood City
Redwood City, CA. – One person was seriously injured in a car accident on Saturday morning at a construction zone in Redwood City.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:43 a.m. on Highway 101 at the northbound Whipple Avenue offramp.
A white Subaru collided with a ramp pickup truck that was parked, straddling the first two lanes. The pickup truck driver is a contractor working on a Caltrans project.
The driver of the Subaru was killed in the accident, according to the Redwood City Fire Department.
The occupants of the pickup truck were uninjured.
It is unclear if alcohol was a factor in this collision.
