The driver of the Freightliner was transported to taken to Santa Clara Medical Center for treatment of major injuries
San Benito, CA. – One person was killed in a collision involving two big rigs on Monday morning in Hollister.
The fatal collision happened on Highway 25 between Bolsa Road and Shore Road at around 9:56 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 70-year-old San Jose man was driving a 2017 Freightliner Cascadia north on the highway when he drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on a 2022 Mack Anthem.
The 68-year-old San Jose man who was driving the Mack truck was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Freightliner was ejected from the truck and was transported to taken to Santa Clara Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
