Passenger Killed in Car Accident on Highway 7 in Spanaway
Tacoma, WA – One person was killed in a car crash on Highway 7 in Spanaway Saturday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Police, the mishap was reported at around 4 p.m. on State Route 7 at milepost 48.07.
The police saw a driver in a Lexus sedan speeding and when they attempted to pull the driver over, he sped away.
The suspect then crashed into a Ford truck traveling in the northbound lanes.
A passenger in the suspect's car died at the scene. The extent of the injuries to the Ford truck driver is unknown.
The suspect driver was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and he will be booked for second-degree murder, according to Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
Additional information about the wreck was not available.
