Kitsap County, WA – One Person was killed and two others seriously injured in a Wednesday morning head-on collision in Poulsbo, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff's.
The grisly wreck occurred at around 9:02 a.m. in the 16200 block of Viking Way Northwest.
According to first responders, a driver believed to be speeding and under the influence went into the opposite travel lane to pass a vehicle but did not return to the correct lane and collided head-on with a Toyota SUV carrying a man and a woman.
One person was declared dead at the scene.
The man and woman in the Toyota were transported to the hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The incident impacted the roadway for several hours.
An investigation is underway.
