Jackson County, OR. – Seaven Wyatt, 79, of Jacksonville killed, and Ramon Rios Duran, 70, of Medford injured in a car crash in Jackson County Friday afternoon.
According to the Oregon State Police, the wreck happened at around 3:15 p.m. on November 17 on Highway 238 near milepost 25.
Per the police report, Wyatt was driving a westbound Ford Aspire on the highway when he made a left turn onto Upper Applegate Road.
For unknown reasons, the Ford drifted into the path of an eastbound Toyota Tacoma driven by Duran, causing the accident.
Wyatt was pronounced dead at the crash site.
Duran sustained minor injuries in the wreck.
The mishap impacted the roadway for about three hours as officers investigated the scene.
OSP was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Applegate Valley Fire, Mercy Flights, and ODOT.
An investigation is underway.
