One Person Hospitalized in Lebec Truck Crash on I-5 at Smokey Bear Road

Lebec, California (November 2, 2023) – One person was injured in a crash involving commercial vehicles on 5 Freeway in Lebec on Thursday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The crash happened at about 1:06 p.m. on Northbound Interstate 5, just north of Smokey Bear Road.

As per the CHP, a semi-truck, two white pickup trucks, and a black BMW were involved in the crash.

A life flight was requested to the scene and transported one person to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital in unknown condition.

A SigAlert was issued and lanes 2 and 3 of the freeway were shut down for several hours. The SigAlert remained active through 6 p.m.
