Placer County, Calif. – A bicyclist was hospitalized after being injured in a collision on Tuesday afternoon in Placer County.

The bicycle accident happened around 1:08 p.m. on southbound Crosby Herold Road at Wise Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A bicyclist was reportedly hit by a car on the highway in unclear circumstances.

The cyclist was ejected from the bicycle and was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle that struck the bicyclist was not immediately located.
