Temecula, CA – Four people were killed and two others were injured Saturday morning in a fiery car accident in Temecula, according to the CHP.
The fatal accident happened around 9:33 p.m. on August 23 on Interstate 15 just north of Winchester Road.
CHP said a black BMW M4 was traveling northbound recklessly on the interstate when it veered left, struck the concrete median and crossed into the southbound lanes, where it collided with a white Nissan Sentra.
The force of the impact caused the BMW to catch fire and fully become engulfed.
Good Samaritans pulled the BMW driver, a 25-year-old Moreno Valley man, from the burning car. He was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries. His passengers, a 23-year-old woman in the front seat and two teenagers, ages 14 and 15, in the back seat, all from Moreno Valley, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.
The driver of the Nissan, a 35-year-old Wildomar man, died while being taken to the hospital. His name has not been released.
The front seat-passenger in the Nissan, a 22-year-old man, was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in critical condition.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
The BMW driver might face charges, pending the outcome of the investigation.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
