Three Killed in Imperial County Crash on Interstate 8

Imperial County, California (February 22, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a fatal wrong-way collision that happened in Imperial County on Monday evening.

The wreck took place on Interstate 8 near Forrester Road, just east of El Centro, at about 7:30 p.m. February 20.

A Tesla and an Acura were involved in the head-on collision. The Tesla was reportedly heading the wrong way prior to the collision.

The Tesla became fully engulfed in flames following the impact of the crash.

The two occupants of the Tesla and the driver of the Acura were killed in the collision.

Alcohol and drugs were not suspected in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
