3 Injured in Car Accident on South Higuera Street near Clover Ridge Lane in San Luis Obispo
San Luis Obispo, California (May 9, 2023) – Three people were hospitalized following a head-on collision that happened on Monday night in San Luis Obispo.
The accident happened at around 9 p.m. on South Higuera Street near Clover Ridge Lane, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A BMW 335i driven by 27-year-old Nichalas Hill was traveling northbound on South Higuera Street when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV driven by 61-year-old Kevin Suchoza.
CHP says Kevin was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. His wife, 63-year-old Yolanda Suchoza, also sustained major injuries and was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
A passenger in Hill’s BMW suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken to Sierra Vista for treatment.
Hill sustained minor injuries in the collision. He was arrested and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of DUI.
