Bakersfield, CA.- Three people were injured in a traffic collision in Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place on Highway 178 near Mount Vernon Avenue at about 4 p.m. August 5.
The CHP reported that a pickup truck traveling on the highway was hauling a couch, which became loose and fell into the traffic lanes.
A Jeep Cherokee tried to avoid the couch but lost control, overturned, and fell off the embankment.
The three occupants of the Jeep were injured.
At least two of them were taken to Kern Medical with minor injuries.
Two lanes were shut down as authorities cleared the scene.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
