1 Critically Injured in Highway 395 Crash near Mojave Drive in Victorville
Victorville, California (February 8, 2023) – Two people were injured, one critically, when a car hit the rear of a semi-truck Tuesday evening in Victorville, police said.
The collision took place at about 7:18 p.m. on Highway 395, just south of Mojave Drive near Frida’s Mexican Food Stand.
According to police, an older model Toyota Camry slammed into the back of a big rig, ending up halfway underneath it.
The female driver of the car and her female passenger got trapped inside.
2 Hospitalized After Victorville Accident on US-395
Police officers, firefighters, and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.
The firefighters used specialized equipment to extricate both victims.
The female driver was listed in critical condition and a helicopter was requested to respond and airlift her to the hospital. The air ambulance landed at a nearby fire station, from where the patient was transported to a trauma center.
The female passenger was also taken to the hospital by a ground ambulance.
The driver of the big rig was not injured.
All northbound lanes of US-395 remained closed for several hours following the accident.
