2 People Injured in Multi Car Crash in Rock Island

Rock Island, Washington (May 6, 2023) – Two people were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday in Rock Island, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The collision occurred on State Route 28 involving a speeding 2003 Honda Pilot and two other cars.

The accident occurred in the westbound lanes where construction activities were in progress with a flagger stopping traffic.

According to WSP, the Pilot was traveling at speeds faster than conditions allowed when it rear-ended a 2019 Honda CR-V and pushed it into a third car.

All the vehicles were left blocking the westbound lanes.

Two occupants in the CR-V were taken to Central Washington Hospital with unspecified injuries.

The Pilot and the CR-V were totaled.

Authorities said drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash, but speed was the cause.
