2 People Killed in Big Rig Crash on Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway near Hayfield Road
Indio, California (January 29, 2023) – Two people were killed in an Indio crash involving a big rig and SUV on Monday morning, authorities said.
The deadly accident happened at about 4:14 a.m. on the Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway (10), west of Hayfield Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the big rig collided with an SUV on the highway’s westbound lane in unclear circumstances.
Sadly, two people sustained fatal injuries in the accident.
More details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
