2 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Mecca Car Crash at Avenue 66 and Highway 86

Riverside County, California (April 14, 2023) – Two people were killed in a car crash that happened near Mecca on Thursday night.
At around 11:52 p.m., the Riverside County Fire Department responded to the area of Avenue 66 and Highway 86 for reports of a traffic collision.
A semi-truck and two sedans were involved in the wreck. One of the sedans reportedly rolled over and caught fire after the collision.
Two people were killed in the accident.
One person sustained major injuries in the crash and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Two other people were treated at the scene and released.
More details about the crash were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
