2 Hospitalized after Mountain View Car Collision on Highway 101 near Rengstorff Avenue Off-Ramp

Mountain View, California (March 9, 2023) – Two people were sent to the hospital after a multi-vehicle pileup that happened Wednesday night in Mountain View, the California Highway Patrol said.

Five vehicles collided at around 8:25 p.m. on northbound Highway 101, just north of the Rengstorff Avenue off-ramp.

Mountain View police and firefighters, as well as CHP officers, responded to the scene.

The responders found a gray Nissan, a black Mazda, two gray Toyotas, and a black Tesla with varying extents of crash damage.

Firefighters evaluated the motorists and transported two to Stanford Hospital. One sustained a possible head injury and the complaint of pain to the left leg, and the other complained of pain to the chest.

All vehicles were towed away from the scene.
