2 Injured in DUI Car Crash at Cypress Avenue and Churn Creek Road in Redding

Redding, California (September 28, 2022) – A 33-year-old Alicia Balch was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a Wednesday morning car crash in Redding.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of westbound Cypress Avenue and Churn Creek Road at around 6:10 a.m.

Balch was driving a car eastbound on Cypress Avenue when she ran a red light and crashed into a vehicle traveling north on Churn Creek Road.

Balch and the second driver suffered minor injuries in the crash.

Balch was later arrested for DUI and driving with a suspended license. She was booked into the Shasta County Jail.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
