Two Hurt in Madera Accident on Highway 145

Madera, California (May 23, 2023) – Two people were injured in a collision between two vehicles near Madera on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occured on Highway 145 between Road 29 and Storey Road just after 1:00 p.m.

CHP said a GMC pickup truck was trying to make a U-turn on the highway when it was hit by a westbound Ford pickup.

The driver of the GMC was airlifted to the hospital with major injuries.

A passenger in the GMC was also hospitalized with moderate to major injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not hurt.

CHP said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
