Two Injured in North County Crash on Del Dios Highway

North County, California (March 12, 2023) – Two people were injured in a crash that happened in North County on Saturday morning, according to the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Protection District.

The wreck happened just after 11 a.m. on Del Dios Highway, just west of Hodges Dam.

Authorities said two vehicles collided in the area under unclear circumstances.

Firefighters extricated one person from one of the vehicles

A man in one of the vehicles and a woman in the other were both taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

The roadway was temporarily closed for the investigation.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
