Rider Injured in Bakersfield Bicycle Accident on Ming Avenue

Bakersfield, California (March 18, 2023) – A 16-year-old riding a bicycle was struck and injured by a vehicle in Bakersfield on Friday evening, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.

The crash took place at Ming Avenue and El Portal Drive at around 7:02 p.m. 

Police said a vehicle was traveling westbound on Ming Avenue when it collided with the bicyclist in the area.

The bicyclist was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the involved vehicle reportedly stayed at the scene after the incident.

Police are investigating the collision.
