1 Injured in Mission Viejo Accident on 5 Freeway and Crown Valley Parkway

Mission Viejo, California (March 8, 2023) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a four-vehicle accident that injured one person on Tuesday morning in Mission Viejo.

The collision occurred on the northbound 5 Freeway, just south of Crown Valley Parkway, at about 10:16 a.m. on March 7.

Police confirmed four vehicles crashed for unknown reasons.

Per the dispatch, three vehicles collided for reasons still under investigation.

Emergency crews and medics arrived to aid one person injured in the crash. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.

A SigAlert was issued for approximately one-hour closing lanes 1, 2, 3, and 4. The roadway was cleared as of 11:20 a.m.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the cars from the crash site.
