One Dies in Modesto Crash on Highway 132 

Modesto, California (April 13, 2023) – One person was killed in a wrong-way collision early Thursday morning west of Modesto, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision took place at around 2:40 a.m. on Highway 132 west of Gates Road.

The CHP said a Nissan pickup was traveling west on eastbound Highway 132 when it collided head-on with an eastbound big rig driven by Gerardo Reyes, 32, of Lodi.

The man driving the Nissan died at the scene.

Reyes and his passenger, Maria Reyes, 33, of Lodi, sustained minor injuries. 

A 3-year old boy in the big rig was properly restrained and was not injured. 

The crash remains under investigation.
