Man Killed in Stockton Crash on Highway 99 at Arch Road

, CA.- One person was killed in a suspected DUI accident in Stockton on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on Highway 99 at Arch Road at around 5:11 a.m. November 23.

According to the CHP, a Toyota was traveling northbound on Highway 99 when it drifted off the roadway and slammed into the concrete divider.

The driver of a passing BMW stopped on the shoulder of the highway to check on the driver of the disabled Toyota.

Shortly after, a Nissan traveling at a high rate of speed slammed into the driver's side of the Toyota and crashed into the rear of the BMW.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The occupants of the BMW were not hurt.

The two occupants of the Nissan fled the scene on foot after the accident.

Authorities later located the Nissan driver and arrested them on suspicion of DUI.

The accident is under investigation by the CHP.
