Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Garbage Truck on South Las Posas Road in San Marcos
San Diego, California (March 11, 2023) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a garbage truck in San Marcos on Friday morning.
The fatal auto-pedestrian collision happened at the EDCO Recycling Buyback Center in the 200 block of South Las Posas Road at around 11:58 a.m.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department says the truck driver was backing into the scales at the facility when his vehicle hit the pedestrian.
The unidentified pedestrian was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
