1 Killed in Tempe Car Crash on Loop 202 near McClintock Drive

Tempe, Arizona (April 27, 2023) – One person was killed in a rear-end crash involving a dump truck on Thursday morning in Tempe.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at around 3 a.m. on Loop 202 near McClintock Drive.
A dump truck driver was working on a pavement project on the freeway and was driving from the construction site when the truck was rear-ended by an eastbound SUV.
The SUV driver was killed in the crash.
Officials believe impairment was a factor in the crash and the dump truck driver was taken into custody.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
