1 Killed in Car Accident on Interstate 17 near Thomas Road in Phoenix
Phoenix, Arizona (April 23, 2023) – One person died after a series of crashes early Sunday morning in central Phoenix.
At around 4 a.m., the Arizona Department of Public Safety officials responded to a pedestrian accident on Interstate 17 near Thomas Road.
The victim had been struck by a car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As the officers were investigating the incident, another vehicle crashed into an ADOT response vehicle at the scene.
Officials say the crash resulted in injuries, but it is unclear how many were hurt.
