1 Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on 805 Freeway near 43rd Street in National City

National City, California (April 29, 2023) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision that left one other person seriously injured in National City on Saturday morning.

At around 9:08 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a traffic collision on Interstate 805 Freeway near the 43rd Street off-ramp.

A small work truck with two men inside was traveling southbound on I-805 Freeway when it collided with a large commercial flatbed truck transporting a bulldozer tractor.

The flatbed truck did not stop after the collision.

The impact of the collision sent the small truck off the roadway and down an embankment.

One man in the work truck was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man was transported to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
