Motorcyclist Killed in Ojai Accident on SR 33 near South Matilija Hot Springs Road
Ventura County, California (January 7, 2023) – A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash that happened in Ojai on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision happened at around 2:45 p.m. January 6, on Highway 33 near Matilija Hot Springs Road, north of the North Fork of Matilija Creek.
CHP says a 27-year-old Oxnard man was riding a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Highway 33 when he collided head-on with a 2021 Hyundai traveling northbound.
The motorcyclist died at the scene of the accident.
His name was not immediately disclosed.
The four occupants of the car, all residents of Claremont, California, suffered minor or no injuries.
Further details were not immediately released.
The CHP is investigating the collision.
