1 Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 68 near Highway 1 in Monterey

Monterey, California (May 6, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a car crash that claimed the life of at least one person on Saturday morning in Monterey.

At around 3:44 a.m., the California Highway Patrol received reports of a traffic collision on Highway 68 near the Highway 1 connector.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision, but the sequence of events leading up to the accident was not immediately established.

CHP says one person was killed in the accident.

The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
