1 Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 1 near Mirada Road in Half Moon Bay
San Mateo, California (September 28, 2022) – One person was killed in a bicycle accident in Half Moon Bay near Miramar on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened on Highway 1 near Mirada Road at around 11:31 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A box truck was traveling southbound on Highway 1 when the driver drifted into the northbound lane and struck a cyclist riding on the shoulder.
Officials say the bicyclist, a man believed to be in his 40s, was killed in the accident.
The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
