Temecula Man Killed in Car Accident on 15 Freeway near Champagne Road in Escondido
San Diego, California (May 7, 2023) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that happened early Sunday morning in Escondido.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 2:17 a.m. on the 15 Freeway near Champagne Road.
A 32-year-old man from Temecula was driving a Dodge Challenger on the southbound lanes of the freeway when he came to a stop for unknown reasons.
An Infiniti G37 reportedly crashed into the rear of the Dodge. An Acura MDX subsequently rear-ended the Infiniti before striking the left side of a Honda CRV that was in the second southbound lane.
CHP says the Temecula man was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Infinity and two passengers were taken to local hospitals with major, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The deadly crash remains under investigation.
