One Killed in Merced Car Accident on M Street and Buena Vista Drive 

Merced, California (October 27, 2022) – One person was killed in a collision between two vehicles in Merced Wednesday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at around 1:35 p.m. October 26, in the area of M Street and Buena Vista Drive.

Authorities said a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling south on M Street when it crashed into the side of a Nissan Altima that was traveling eastbound on Buena Vista Drive. 

A 67-year-old Merced woman was trapped in the Nissan and was freed by emergency responders. The woman was pronounced deceased shortly after.

The 25-year-old Merced man driving the Camaro stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities. 

Authorities are investigating to find out whether street-racing played a role in the incident.
