Man Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Highway 99 near Olive Drive

Bakersfield, California (April 18, 2023) – A man was killed in a collision that took place in Bakersfield on Monday, according to the authorities.

The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. April 17, on Highway 99 near Olive Drive.

A Chevrolet traveling southbound on Highway 99 was trying to change lanes when it collided with a pedestrian who was trying to walk across the highway.

The victim, a 32-year-old man, was rushed to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced deceased.

Authorities said alcohol and drugs were not suspected to be factors in the incident.

The crash is under investigation.
