One Killed in Indio Accident on Harrison Street

Indio, California (May 26, 2023) – One person was killed in a traffic collision on Thursday afternoon in Indio, according to the authorities.

The collision took place at around 2:45 p.m. May 25, on Harrison Street north of 80th Avenue.

Authorities said a 2001 Ford Ranger was heading south on Harrison Street behind a slow moving tractor when it was hit by a speeding 2016 Toyota Corolla.

The 43-year-old man driving the Ford was killed in the accident.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

Authorities said DUI was suspected in the accident and the driver of the Toyota was arrested.

The crash is under investigation.
