One Killed in Chula Vista Accident on E Street

Chula Vista, California (May 24, 2023) – One person was killed in a traffic collision in Chula Vista on Wednesday morning, according to Chula Vista police.

The crash happened in the 700 block of E Street just after 6 a.m.

Authorities said a vehicle was traveling west on E Street at a high rate of speed when it drifted into a turning lane and slammed into a car that was waiting to turn left into a parking lot.

The male driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the stopped vehicle was hospitalized as a precaution.

Authorities are working to determine the cause of the incident.
