2 Killed in San Francisco Car Crash on 80 Freeway near Treasure Island Road

San Francisco, California (March 16, 2023) – Authorities are investigating a fatal car crash that happened in San Francisco on Wednesday night.

The fatal accident happened on the 80 Freeway near Treasure Island Road at around 11:12 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

 A vehicle and a big rig were involved in the accident. The car is reported to have rear-ended a big rig in unclear circumstances.

Firefighters who responded to the incident had to extricate one person who was trapped in the wreckage.

CHP says at least two people were killed in the accident.

The names of the victims were not publicly disclosed.
