1 Killed in Merced Car Crash at Santa Fe Drive and Avenue Two
Merced, California (November 16, 2022) – One person was killed in a Tuesday evening car crash that happened at an intersection in Merced.
The accident happened at around 5:17 p.m. at Santa Fe Drive and Avenue Two, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 52-year-old Winton woman was driving a 2015 Nissan Sedan eastbound on Avenue Two approaching the intersection and was attempting to make a turn when she collided with a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser driven southbound on Santa Fe Drive by 39-year-old Antonio Rojas of Merced.
The collision sent the Nissan in a southeast direction where it collided with a 2018 BMW driven by 26-year-old Rayanne Jawad of Atwater, waiting to turn onto Avenue Two from Santa Fe.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
