One Dies in Martinez Crash on on SR-4 near Pine Street 

Martinez, California  (February 1, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on State Route 4 in Martinez early Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place at about 4:17 a.m. just east of Pine Street.

CHP said a Ford hatchback was traveling west on SR 4 when it struck the center divide and became disabled in the roadway.

A Lexus SUV and a Toyota SUV then crashed into the disabled Ford.

The driver of the Ford died in the crash.

No other injuries were reported.

The CHP is investigating the collision.
