One Killed in Sacramento Collision on Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard
Sacramento, California (May 5, 2023) – One person was killed and several others injured in a crash at an intersection in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon, according to the authorities.
The wreck happened at Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard at about 4:25 p.m. May 4.
Authorities said a Sacramento police officer tried to stop a driver in a stolen sedan but the driver took off. Due t the driver’s reckless driving, the officers did not chase after them.
Shorty after, the suspect was involved in a collision with a pickup truck at Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard.
A woman from the sedan was killed in the incident.
A man and two juveniles in the sedan were hospitalized in critical condition.
Two passengers in the pickup were also critically injured while a third passenger had moderate injuries.
Both sides of Franklin Boulevard were closed between Bassett Way and Adalis Drive as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
