Avondale, Arizona (December 29, 2022) – A 10-year-old boy died, and five others were hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday in Avondale.

The Avondale Police Department said the wreck occurred just before 10 a.m. near 107th Avenue and Roosevelt Parkway.

Two vehicles collided under unclear circumstances.

Police said six people, including four children, were involved in the accident.

The four children were rushed to the hospital, where one of them, a 10-year-old boy, died of his injuries. The other three remained in critical condition.

A man and a woman were also hospitalized in unknown condition.

Investigators did not believe impairment was a contributing factor.
