Drexel Heights, AZ.- One person was killed and several others were injured in a collision that took place in Drexel Heights on Thursday morning, according to the Drexel Heights Fire District.
The incident took place on Interstate 19 near Papago Road.
According to the report, four vehicles were involved in the crash on the northbound side of I-19.
Two of them rolled over following the accident and occupants of the vehicles were pulled out by firefighters.
One vehicle also burst into flames.
Authorities confirmed that one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three other parties were taken to hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
The northbound lanes of the interstate were shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
