Halloran Summit, CA – One person was killed and another was injured early Sunday morning in a semi-truck accident near Halloran Summit, according to the CHP.
The fatal crash happened around 6:13 a.m. on August 17 on northbound Interstate 15 near mile marker 170.
CHP said a black SUV rear-ended a semi-truck on the freeway.
Both vehicles came to rest on opposite sides of the freeway.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another person was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance. Their condition was not disclosed.
The driver of the semi-truck was uninjured in the crash.
The crash temporarily closed the freeway.
The CHP-Barstow Station is investigating the crash.
