The CHP reported that a man was driving a Nissan Sentra northbound on Goldenrod Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection

Kerman, CA.- One person was killed and another injured in a traffic collision that occurred near Kerman on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 5 p.m. August 26, authorities received reports of a crash in the area of Goldenrod and Belmont avenues.
The CHP reported that a man was driving a Nissan Sentra northbound on Goldenrod Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection.
The Sentra was hit by a Toyota Tundra traveling westbound on Belmont Avenue.
The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway and into a field.
The man driving the Nissan was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The other driver was treated for minor injuries.
According to the CHP, impairment was not suspected to have played a role in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
