1 Hurt in Escondido Truck Accident on 15 Freeway near Deer Springs Road

Escondido, California (February 21, 2023) – According to a California Highway Patrol report, one person was injured following a big rig crash on Monday afternoon in Escondido.

The accident happened around 3:08 p.m. on February 20, on 15 Freeway and Deer Springs Road.

Per the dispatch, an 18-wheeler semi-dump truck with two trailers was rear-ended by a white pickup truck for unknown reasons.

Firefighters and medics arrived at the scene to aid one individual injured in the crash. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.

40-50 ft metal cable guardrail and 2 to 3 posts were damaged following the collision.

A tow truck was requested to remove the truck from the accident location.

No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
